This is the time of year where my skin has just about had it with winter. Enough Already! Rough dry patches, cracking, blotchy, itchy and all around uncomfortable, I’ve had it all. Habits like repeatedly washing your hands help to keep colds and flus at bay are great, but don’t do much for the moisture on your hands. At Absolute Health Chiropractic, we try to stay all close to all natural as we can. From what we eat to what we put on our skin, nothing should have a list of ingredients that we can’t pronounce or know where they came from.
I’ve tried all kinds of things for my unhappy winter skin, even getting samples of all the different lotions for “sensitive skin” at whole foods, and haven’t found anything that works as well or is as gentle at coconut oil. From face to feet, and even in cooking, coconut oil has been keeping my skin clear and moisturized for over a year now. Make sure to buy unrefined or extra virgin, which are easily found at most grocery and health food stores or online. Coconut oil also helps the body by being naturally antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial and has been shown to help conditions such as eczema, acne, athletes foots, and dry scalp without adding any hash chemicals to your skin, the bodies largest organ. What we put on the outside of the body effects what’s inside and vice versa! Let’s make sure those are good things!
