It’s finally starting to feel like summer! The weather we’ve been waiting all winter for is heading our way, and if you’re like me, you want to be outside as much as possible!

What are some of your favorite outdoor activities? From gardening to running and tennis to swimming we all have different ways we like to get outside and exercise while also enjoying the sunshine. Even if your outdoor activities are more like laying in the sun and reading a good book or magazine, you want to feel your best while you’re at it. This is where stretching comes into play.

In Active Care we go over easy stretches and exercises that you can do anywhere, from the gym, to the boulevard, to the beach. It’s important to stretch even when you don’t feel like you may be doing strenuous work, because moving in different ways than you are used to (especially after being cooped up all winter) can put unnecessary stress on the body.

One of the most common times I have to remind myself to stretch is when I ride my bike. Even if it’s just around the block or over to the grocery store, I know that if I don’t take the time to do a few leg stretches I’m going to feel it in my knees later.  Keeping up with some easy stretches when you are out and about will keep you feeling good and up for anything this summer!
